Why Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy supports clients in maximizing their ability to participate in and enjoy daily life. Occupational Therapy uses a functional approach to address individual goals, allowing clients and therapists to collaborate on a treatment plan based on what matters to the individual client. Whether it's a simple self care activity like getting dressed or making a meal, or something more complex like managing the care of an aging loved one at home, or completing those "bucket list" experiences-- there's occupational therapy for that!

What is Mobile Therapy?
Desert Rose Therapy utilizes a mobile practice model, allowing us to break away from the restrictions of typical outpatient therapy clinics. By providing therapy in clients' own homes, we are able to meet clients in their own spaces to address their occupational challenges in the environments where they actually occur. This supports the efficacy of occupational therapy treatments, and promotes success and independence for clients and their family members.
Meet Your Occupational Therapist
Lori Sutton, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist and founder of Desert Rose Therapy Services, LLC. In 2014, Lori graduated from Colorado State University with her Master of Occupational Therapy degree. While her original career ambitions were to become a pediatric therapist for children with autism, Lori's clinical experiences led her to hospital-based practice, with an emphasis on OT in the ICU. In the ICU, Lori routinely worked with patients with critically illnesses, often teetering on the cusp of life and death. These experiences, along with experiences with friends and family at end of life, developed a passion for empowering people to have agency over their end of life experiences through maintaining independence, maximizing quality of life throughout the lifespan, and dying with dignity.
In addition to maintaining national and state credentials to practice occupational therapy, Lori is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and holds a certificate in Hospice & Palliative Care for Therapists. As a Las Vegas-native, Lori is excited to use her expertise as an OT to promote positive end of life experiences for individuals and families in the Las Vegas Valley.
